When should I schedule my newborn session?

The best time to schedule your newborn session is before your little one arrives, ideally during your second trimester. This will ensure that I have availability for your desired date. However, I always try to leave some flexibility in my schedule to accommodate new arrivals. If you prefer to book online, you can select a date one week after your due date as a placeholder, but know that this may not be your actual session date. Once your baby is born, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll confirm the exact date, which is usually between 7-14 days after birth, depending on your preference.

When is the best time to photograph my newborn?

The sweet spot for newborn photography is within the first 2 weeks of life. While beautiful images can be captured at any age, during this time newborns are still incredibly pliable and "curly," they sleep heavily, and there's less likelihood of baby acne or colic. These factors make it easier to pose and photograph your baby.

How long does a newborn session last?

Newborn sessions usually last between 2-3 hours, depending on the type of session (1-2 hours for a mini session). This allows for plenty of time for feeding, changing setups, and soothing your baby as needed. As a newborn client, you'll receive a detailed guide to help you plan and prepare for your session, including information on what to wear and bring. I'll also send you a questionnaire to help tailor the session to your preferences.

Do you provide props for the newborn session?

I do! I have a wide variety of hats, headbands, pants, wraps, baskets, and other props to use during your session. My goal is to make it so you only have to bring your baby and their milk.

What's the difference between the full and mini sessions?

A full session typically lasts between 2-3 hours and includes a variety of setups, as well as parent and sibling portraits. The mini session is shorter, focused just on your baby and includes 3-4 different setups (often 2 props and 1-2 fabric backdrop setups). This can be a great option for those who want a simple and sweet session with a focus on their new bundle of joy.
